...Mike also volunteers each Monday morning with the Breakfast Club in the Hilltop Neighborhood.   We have many who find being there for the kids each and every Monday morning is a great way to spend some time connecting with kids in the neighborhood.

A brief word from Margie

The close friendships we develop while living and studying at the UBL provide me with some of my happiest moments!   This week I have had the special moments of interviewing one of our returning students, Isia Laurencio Trinidad.   By hearing him tell me about his life in Peru, his family, his studies, and how he has come to UBL, I feel closer to Isai than before.   Isai was born in the middle of 8 brothers and sisters of an indigenous Quechua family in the sierra region of Peru.   Thus I better understand the challenges Isai faces as he now writes his Bachelor's degree thesis in Spanish, when Quechua is his mother language.  I'm blessed to sit beside Isai and work together with him to make corrections and suggestions about his writing.   He loves the study of the Bible, is writing his thesis on verses of Galatians, and plans to someday finish his licenciate degree here at the UBL.  Surely Isai is one of our most deserving scholarship students and he believes that by inspiring many capable teachers and generous donors, God is opening doors for him to better serve as a pastor in Peru.
