BE A WORLD CHANGER

We are within about 20 volunteers of having enough folks on hand for the May 11 Kids Against Hunger Packing event poised to put 40,000 meals together to make a dent in the hunger situation in our world.  Recognizing it is really insignificant in the grand scheme of things, but for 40,000 people for one day...they will have food to eat.

In the United Methodist Church during the month of May there is an emphasis "World Changers" ... Be a World Changer by doing something for others.   Well, this is Valparaiso 1st UMC response to the challenge to do something for others.   We'll be putting together rice, soy and other items in a bag, seal it and pack it to be shipped to various places here in Northwest Indiana and to a ministry of the United Methodist Church in Guatemala.  Thanks for all who have said "yes" to changing the world even though it is ever so small.   Our hope is the experience is one that will open new doors of ways to change the world so that less and less men, women and children go to be hungry.

If you haven't signed up for this event, please call Mike Strayer at 462-2354 or Bonnie Albert at 241-7250 to reserve your spot.
