Mission Focus for August ...

Pastors Esequiel and Suri Becerra

Our congregation is all about outreach and so when a new church began in our district (East Chicago) we wanted to find out how we might connect with them.   Nothing short of a miracle under the guidance of Pastors Esequiel and Suri Becerra has transformed an old YMCA facility into a place of worship and place for community outreach.   In June Valparaiso 1st had 6 people attend the consecration of the facility.
The building had many windows that were the glass block windows which did not allow for cooling of the multi-story facility so one by one the windows are being replaced.   Our August Mission offering will be used to fund the replacement of one large window.  Our goal is $1,000. 
We'd like to take a "fieldtrip" to the facility in East Chicago sometime during the month of August.   Watch for details.   Sounds like a great trip for the church van and will for sure include a lunch stop.  



The old YMCA building has new life.   Lots of interesting spaces for worship and ministry.
