April Mission Focus

Our Mission Focus for April is Indiana Conference Disaster Response Fund.  Generall.

In 2017 our congregation donated $3,087.00 to UMCOR for Disasters in the United States.  

That does not include the $7,000 sent to Midwest Mission Distribution Center to use in their cleaning buckets so of which replaced buckets that had gone to disaster areas earlier in the spring.   

Last Fall Bob McMurtry had a callout for helpers to go to the South Bend area last fall to work on various homes who had suffered a flood in the spring.   The funds used for these remodeling jobs came from the Indiana Conference Disaster Response Fund.    

This spring eighteen counties were declared disaster areas in our state.  In the months ahead, the Indiana Disaster Response coordinator will be requesting funds from the Disaster Response Committee to help with the expenses that aren't covered by insurance and the family is not able to cover the expenses themselves.
