Christian Zigbou and Albert Longe, 2012 Africa University graduates, were commissioned as mission interns serving with the General Board of Global Ministries on August 3. After 3 weeks of training in Stony Point, New York, these young men are on their way to the Philippines to serve in projects of the United Methodist Church for the next 18 months.
Christian follows in the footsteps of his family by being a missionary. Herbert and Mary Zigbou served as Operation Classroom Coordinators in Liberia some years ago. Christian will be going to Davao City, Philippines and working in the area of human rights and peace advocacy. At the end of the 18 months he will return home to Liberia for similar work with the General Board of Global Ministries.
Operation Classroom schools and Africa University have prepared him to be an instrument of God in our world. Educational scholarships empower those in developing countries to become trained for leading Africans in the future. Thanks for your support of the scholarship programs through our United Methodist Church.
