What are you doing March 10 - 14? How about joining the team of volunteers and go to the Midwest Mission Distribution Center ? The volunteer opportunities includes assisting with getting a mailing out to volunteers and churches in our jurisdiction, assembling personal hygiene kits, sewing book bags, cutting fabric for school bags, cutting out patterns for children's hospital clothing, assembling cleaning buckets, making school desks, repairing sewing machines, and repairing bicycles. There's never a dull moment.
The team occupies a lodge with bedrooms aound a central area which consists of a living room, dining area, kitchen and game area. We prepare our own meals and enjoy the time of fellowship around a common table.
The best part about being a volunteer at MMDC is we are part of seeing first hand how UMCOR and MMDC are part of coming to the aid of those who are suffering by the effects of natural disasters and/or poverty around our world.
