We are poised for a very busy day at Valparaiso 1st UMC on Saturday, May 11. Over 200 volunteers have signed up for the packing of 40,000 meals for our community food pantries, the Northwest Indiana Food Bank, and South Bend Broadway Christian Parish as well as Mission Guatemala.
We still have opening for children under age 10 to participate in the packing of the snack foods for our local food pantries. This program will take place in the afternoon. Please let us know if you will be bringing children for their "packing day".
We need lots more snacks to be packed so all participants are encouraged to bring snacks for packing on Saturday.
Items needed are:
- packages of fruit chews
- grain (not nut) breakfast bars
- cheese and breadsticks packages
- small box of raisins
- fruit rollups
