June 13 -21 ... Mission Experience in Dominican Republic

We are now getting a team together as we have been invited to come to Monte Rojo which is a small community just north of Samana.   We can expect to make new friends and help in the construction of a much needed parsonage.

We have been back in the DR for three weeks now and nearly up to speed.  We have a team here next week from the Dakotas and  a second team also from the Dakotas in May.  Both teams will be working in the Samana area, near the north coast of the island.  We are focused on a church in the mountains known as Monte Rojo.  Our work there is to complete a small parsonage.  Once the parsonage is complete the pastor will move in and vacate the two rooms he lives in beside the church building.  Those two rooms can then be used for Sunday School classrooms.  As it is now three Sunday School groups meet in the sanctuary simultaneously and it is chaotic. "
We are looking for some adventurous people to join us.  Serious building skills are not necessary.  The skilled workers will be locals and we will help them get the job done.  If you have questions, don't hesitate to contact Bonnie Albert (bonnie@albertmail.com or bonkay@hotmail.com ) or Mike Strayer (jstrayer@netnitco.net )  We need to have names on the dotted line (form to be completed) by March 11 along with a $200 deposit.   Additional details are included in an information sheet that will be emailed to anyone interested.  The total cost is $1600 which includes the $300 project cost, airline ticket, in country transportation, room and board, and insurance.     Only 15 seats have been reserved.  Come along...you will be blessed in so many ways.
