| Texia serves communion at a local church in Puntarens area. |
Texia has been a vital part of our UBL community and beyond during these past three years, and soon she will have graduated with both her Bachelor's Degree and her Licenciate Degree in Bible Sciences. She will have completed all her course work, her community service hours, her theses for each degree, and has actively continued to use her gifts in many areas of Sunday School teacher training workshops with the Pentecostal churches of Puntarenas and the Baptist Churches of Alajuela in Costa Rica. She still serves as director and teacher of the weekly Sunday School in a community center of a very poor neighborhood in San Jose which now also has involved other UBL students in leadership there. She also gives the introductory classes in computation skills for newly arriving UBL students. Texia says that UBL means "opportunity,"--opportunity for personal development, spiritual growth in the Bible and theology, a more ample future, pastoral counseling. She will seek always to find ways to educate children and adults by means of the Bible and theology in order that these same opportunities become realities for them.
